October saw the start of the latest after school technology project where five students, Olly Cairns-Baker, Richard Spence, Thomas Holner, Chris Goodyer, Ben West, have been designing and are hoping to make a fully functioning hovercraft, capable of carrying a student.

The design department were lucky enough to be given three engines by Honda, a 90cc, a 125cc and a smaller 25cc two stroke. Parents have also been helpful in supplying old engines for the students to strip and repair enabling them to gain mechanical knowledge

Plans are now drawn for the final design and the make is about to start. Hopefully a fully working prototype will be up and running by the end of the year.
