We are now moving over to an on-line order system for school uniform with Trutex. Uniform will not be available to buy directly from school from the end of May but should be purchased from Trutex either on-line through their website (www.trutexdirect.com using the password LEA00521SC) by phone 0870 600 1033 or by post using the order form enclosed in their brochure. Orders and exchanges will be sent directly to your home address with no postage and packaging charges.

All details including prices are included in the front of the catalogue which is being sent home with each student in years 7-10 with this newsletter.

We will continue to supply uniform, if we have stock, until the end of May, but where we have no stock of a particular size (currently 34” navy polo shirts) orders will need to be placed direct with Trutex.

From September 2007 we are introducing a round-neck sweatshirt but v-necks will still be acceptable. We are selling off v-neck sweatshirts at £8 each whilst stocks last. Please order from Student Services as soon as possible if required.

The school and governors expect all students to wear the Guilsborough School uniform throughout Years 7 to 11 so that their appearance is smart and tidy both within and outside the school. If parents are on a low income and in receipt of support, they should contact the school as help may be available with the cost of the essential items of uniform. By accepting a place at Guilsborough School, parents are committing the student to wear the agreed uniform.

Essential Uniform: Please note that the sweatshirt and navy polo shirt are available only through Trutex.

• Navy polo shirt with school crest embroidered in silver

• Navy round-necked sweatshirt with school crest embroidered in silver

( The V-necked style is being phased out, but can still be worn if parents already have that style from an older child).

• Black ankle-length trousers for boys and girls, and the option of a plain black skirt for girls. The skirt length should be no shorter than 10cm above the knee and no longer than 10 cm below the knee

• Outer Coat – a plain dark blue or black outer coat (without logos, stripes or any other obvious decoration).

Additional Items

Shoes must be black and low-heeled . Trainers will only be allowed for participation in sport and not during timetabled sessions of the school day. In order to avoid grit on the gym and sports hall floors, students are required to have clean trainers for use indoors.

Please can we ask that students are provided with the following items of PE kit in order that they can participate fully in all the sport available at Guilsborough.

Financial support towards the cost of PE kit may be available for parents of new Year 7 students if you are in receipt of Income Support or Child Tax Credit. Please put your request in writing to the Headteacher
